AT-802 FIREBOSS AMPHIBIOUS

Equipped with amphibious floats from Wipaire, the 10,000 series, the AT-802 Fire Boss aircraft is an effective evolution in fire fighting. You can refill your 3,100-litre water tank in flight in just 30 seconds by dipping into lakes, swamps and seas, quickly returning to the front line of the fire, dramatically increasing the frequency of discharges.

DETAILS

The AT-802 Fire Boss is a fast and agile single-engine aircraft, designed for fast response in fire fighting. Powered by a reliable PT6A-67F turbine engine, it gives you a top speed of almost 300 km / h. This type of turbine engine does not require a warm-up time so an AT-802 pilot can take a full load of 3,100 litres and be back on the way to the front line of fire, just 5 minutes after being alerted.

The great maneuverability of the AT-802 Fire Bossthanks to its floats, allows it to land on water and refill its water tank, with the consequent increase in discharge frequency. The versatility of the delivery provided by the computerised and programmable delivery system helps this aircraft surpass the performance of many airplanes with greater load capacities. The versatility of the unloadings provided by the computerized and programmable unloading system depending on the needs, make this aircraft surpass the performance of many airplanes with greater load capacity.

In adittion, the possibility of operating from eventual unprepared runways, close to the fire, and being able to refuel in swamps and seas, greatly help to reduce discharge cycle times. In contrast to the heavy tanker aircraft that can only take off and refuel from large airports.

Another possibility of the AT-802 Fire Boss is to carry on board a separate tank for the concentrated foam which, by means of a computer controlled injector system, adds to the water in the tank the optimum proportion of foam for the type of fire in question. This system is especially suitable for forest patrol flights, since in case no fire is detected, the foam tank returns to the base to be used on another occasion.

The AT-802 Fire Boss has a characteristic that differentiates it from any other firefighting aircraft and is that it can land with the maximum take-off load (7,257 kg), that is, it can land with a load on the 3,987 kg hopper thanks to its extremely resistant landing floats and braking system, dimensioned for this purpose. This capacity is recognized by the aeronautical authorities through an SCT.
